Our favourite royal wedding dresses through the ages!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have sent the nation into a frenzy over a 2018 royal wedding after announcing their engagement. We’re in love with them both, and can’t wait to crack out the tea and cakes to tune in and watch the ceremony next year. To mark the occasion we have decided to take a look back on our favourite five wedding dresses from royals around the world. Which one is your favourite?
PRINCESS HAJAH HAFIZAH SURURUL BOLKIAH AND PENGIRAN HAJI MUHAMMAD RUZAINI of Brunei
Intricate detail and lots of sparkles is no less than what we would expect from a princess. It does help that she’s the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the world!
GUSTAF MAGNUSON (SON OF PRINCESS CHRISTINA) AND VICKY ANDREN OF SWEDEN
In 2013 Vicky Andren and Gustaf Magnuson tied the knot in Sweden. Andren wore a subtle yet stunning dress. Detailed with elegant netting and florals, she really nailed the wow factor!
PRINCE ABDULLAH AND RANIA YASSIN OF JORDAN
At the young age of 22 Rania stunned the nation in a beautifully gold embroidered gown. The beautiful shapes and lines created by the folds and material of the dress definitely made a statement!
PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON OF THE UK
People flocked to see Prince Will and Kate marry in London back in 2011, and she didn’t disappoint in this stunning gown. A simple white dress, decorated with lace sleeves and a long train sent exuded beauty, class and elegance.
PRINCESS CLAIRE AND PRINCE FÉLIX OF LUXEMBOURG
Chantilly lace embroidery and silver thread work makes this beautiful gown truly fit for the Princess it dresses. Made from ivory silk, the dress is glamorous and classy, and finished off perfectly by that sparkly tiara!
Which ones are your favourite?
These are just five stunning gowns, but in the whole world there are hundreds of equally as beautiful royal wedding dresses. But if we explored every single one, we’d be here all year!
