Alcohol Free Fun For Everyone!
Not everybody is into bars, clubs and non-stop conveyer belts of shots, and it’s important when planning a hen do that the bride’s wants are considered, as well as any guests who don’t drink. So whether you’ve got under-18’s, grandparents, pregnant friends, or anyone who doesn’t drink for other reasons, we’ve pulled together a list of equally exciting, fun and fabulous alcohol free ideas to help you throw together the perfect hen party!
Why not treat yourselves to a lush day or weekend at a spa, where you can indulge in a number of beauty treatments, massages, therapies and plenty of much deserved R&R for the bride to be and her hens! It’s a great opportunity to get all the girl’s together for some post-wedding distressing and a much needed break from all of that event planning! This way you can come away from your hen do, feeling relaxed, refreshed and pampered, all ready for the big day!
Something a Bit More Adventurous?
Whether it’s high ropes, rock climbing or camping, if the bride-to-be likes adrenaline or the great outdoors, how about planning an adventure weekend? Grab your trainers and sports gear (yes that active wear you use to slob around the house in) and let’s get moving! From hiking and paintballing to zip lining, and go-karting, there’s so much to do and so many places to do so; perfect for all those adventure loving ladies!
Fancy something active, and a bit competitive? Create your own sports competition, whether you want to play serious with regulated sports such as netball or football, or if you want to take it back to those good old fashioned egg-and-spoon race days, getting the girls together for some light-hearted competitive fun, could be perfect! Alternatively, you could book courts/ fields for individual sports such as tennis or bubble-football!
Mini sandwiches, scrumptious cakes, pastries, and pots and pots of tea all presented in pretty china to create a classy, elegant and feminine occasion, suitable for everyone. This works especially well, if your bride-to-be, has a taste for vintage, as this classic British tea party creates an old-fashioned, relaxed and nostalgic atmosphere where the girls can all chat and reminisce. You could host your own customised tea party from home, or arrange one at an outside establishment (and save yourself all of that washing up!)
If your bride is more Van-Gogh that Vodka, an arts based class or experience might be right up her street! From painting to pottery, a quick search can find you a range of fantastic arts and crafts classes that will give the bride a great, personal day that’s suited perfectly to her hobbies! On the other hand, those who are not quite as gifted with artistic hands, can maybe have a laugh recreating that pottery spinning scene from Ghost! (Picture opportunity at least?)
Stock up on popcorn, soda and sugary treats, and make sure you’re equipped with all your hen’s favourite movies! What better than a cosy girls night in, blankets, pillows and the best company to throw it back to teenage Saturday night sleepovers with your favourite girl crew!

Some handy tips…
- Call ahead and let any booked activities know in advance that your party is alcohol-free, particularly if they provide extras/offers/ gifts in the way of alcohol. This way they can substitute any alcohol for an alternative option!
- You still need to toast the bride-to-be, so make sure you have her favourite drink on hand to do so with! Whether that’s strawberry lemonade, or her favourite flavoured iced tea- make it special!
